Biography

Agnès Korber is a French painter based near Paris. Working primarily in acrylic and oil on canvas, she develops a form of expressive figuration rooted in a spontaneous gesture and an intuitive, deliberate use of color—built exclusively from the three primary colors and white. Her approach is both instinctive and composed, reflecting a personal visual language that centers on the human figure.

She is best known for her portraits and depictions of bodies, where color serves as a vital force in conveying psychological presence and inner intensity. Her current series focuses on Parisian cafés—transitory urban spaces marked by pause, waiting, and subtle interactions. These works extend her ongoing exploration of identity, presence, and the sensitive perception of others.

Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris under Antoine Bénard and Michaël Jourdet, Korber forged an independent path beyond academic frameworks. Her work was shown at the Grand Palais in the Salon Comparaisons (group Métaphores), curated by Moreno Pinças, and more recently at Galerie Thuillier in Paris. Her paintings are held in private collections in France and abroad.
